neXus is a 5 piece rock band from the Bay Area, California: Brian “Tricky Myx” Amyx (vocals/guitar), Ryan Finney (bass), Jason “Spy” Gunderman (lead guitar), Chris Paxton (drums), and J.J. Keyz (keys) combine their talents to produce a live futuristic rock experience with funk, reggae, and hip hop undertones.  Individually, all members write material, and play multiple instruments.  In fact, the early beginnings of the band included Tricky on drums, Chris on bass, Ryan on guitar and vocals, and Jason on bass and vocals.  neXus takes pride in their live show, spreading an inspirational message, and partying!  The more the merrier!
In 2005, Jallah joined the band on keyboard and vocals sparking a new era of neXus, and their release of a collaboration album entitled “The Connection”(2007)  featuring hip hop, reggae, and rock artists from the bay over live neXus instrumentals.
“Joy” was the first single to make radio in Jamaica on Irie FM featuring reggae singer Bobby Tenna. All artists were recorded at Nexus Audio Studio (nexusaudiostudio.com) which was founded by the band in 2003, led by drummer, Chris Paxton(manager/engineer).  Other cameos included Oakland hip hop emcees Shock G, Mistah Fab, and Turf Talk.
In 2009, neXus began recording the highly anticipated record “Blue Alert” starting with drums at Expressions college(Emeryville) for a larger sound, and filling in the rest of ingredients at Nexus Audio.
“Blue Alert” is expected to launch in spring 2011, starting off with 3 singles, the title track “Blue Alert”, “The Risk”, and the live show hit, “Individuals”.  The whole album will include 12 tracks written, recorded, produced, and engineered by neXus!
